Hit-and-Run Suspect Injured in Collision Near Dusty Lane
Modesto, CA (May 8, 2022) – Police arrested 26-year-old Carlo Higuerra in relation with an injury car accident that occurred on Albers Road Sunday morning.
According to the Modesto Bee News, Higuerra was behind the wheel of a 2003 Volkswagen sedan heading north on Albers. Due to the alleged intoxication of Higuerra, he allowed the Volkswagen to veer into the opposite side.
Officials said the drunk motorist ended up colliding with a 2016 Nissan SUV. The crash took place in the area near Dusty Lane in Modesto.
Carlo Higuerra Injured, Arrested After Car Crash on Albers Road in Modesto
Shortly after 9 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Authorities mentioned Higuerra and two others occupants in the Volkswagen were nowhere to be found. The Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies worked extensively to locate the hit-and-run suspects. Shortly after, police managed to apprehend Higuerra and two other men. Our sources indicated Carlo Higuerra suffered minor injuries in the collision. After receiving medical aid, the man will face felony charges of DUI; and hit-and-run causing injury.
The driver of the Nissan also sustained injuries in the crash. An ambulance transported the patient to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
