Oxnard Man, 40, Killed in Hit-and-run Collision
OXNARD, Calif. (August 31, 2022) — Carlos Rangel Flores, 40, of Oxnard, died following a hit-and-run crash at Ventura Road and Ninth Street in Oxnard.
The fatal Oxnard pedestrian accident happened just after 1 a.m. on August 29th, according to the Oxnard Police Department and the Ventura Star.
Someone called 911 to report a man was down in the street near Ventura Road and Ninth Street, police said.
Paramedics and police officers responded and located the badly-injured man and determined a vehicle had struck him and left the scene.
An ambulance transported Carlos Rangel Flores to Ventura County Medical Center, but he later died at the hospital.
Investigators are working on the case and searching for the suspect. They determined the suspect’s vehicle was heading southbound on Ventura Road when it struck the victim.
Authorities believe the vehicle involved was a sedan with damage to the front bumper near the license plate.
