Carlos Torres Fallbrook Hit-and-Run on Olive Hill RoadBicyclist, 46, Badly Injured in Hit-and-Run

FALLBROOK (December 14, 2017)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a major injury hit-and-run collision left a bicyclist seriously injured following a collision on Olive Hill Road Wednesday morning.

CHP officials responded to the scene where a bicyclist ID’d as Carlos Floro Torres Mendez, 46, was hit by a vehicle from the rear at around 5:30 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle described to resemble a Toyota Prius, failed to stop and proceeded to flee the scene northbound.

Torres suffered major injuries following the collision and was rushed to Palomar Medical Center. He was last said to have been in serious condition as he underwent surgery quickly after being admitted.

San Diego Union Tribune wrote that CHP is looking for 28-year-old Dylan James Kepley and is considering him as the suspect in connection with the crash.

Authorities urge anybody who may have information to contact CHP at (858) 637-3800.

Hit-and-Run Injury Lawyer

Most traffic accidents which involve a driver who flees the scene can be subjected to serious criminal charges, especially when a particular crash causes serious injuries to another person. Such circumstances are considered as “felony hit-and-run,” leaving the victim a legal right to pursue a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit against the suspect. We hope the hit-and-run suspect will be located and justice will then be served.

In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, the surviving family members of the victim involved in this malicious hit-and-run incident will have the right to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against the responsible party and or if the victim carries uninsured motorist coverage. The family of the victim will be able to seek compensation for damages which would include funeral costs, pain and suffering, lost future income, and loss of companionship.
