Pedestrian Killed in Fresno Crash is Identified
FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2021)- Carlos Garcia, 57, died in a Fresno pedestrian accident Friday at Blackstone Avenue and Griffith Way.
A driver in a car struck the man in southwest Fresno on Friday, Oct. 1st at the intersection, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
Carlos Garcia suffered major injuries upon impact. Paramedics performed CPR on the victim and transported him to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition, according to Your Central Valley News.
However, despite life-saving measures, Carlos Garcia died at the hospital shortly after the pedestrian accident.
Meanwhile, the woman in her 30s driving the car stopped and cooperated with police officers.
Investigators did not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
However, early indications reveal the pedestrian was walking in a crosswalk against a red light.
The driver reportedly went through the intersection on a green light.
Liability for the deadly pedestrian accident remains undetermined at this time.
Our thoughts and prayers extend to the family of Carlos Garcia.
