Carlos Mendoza Garcia, 53, Hurt in Traffic Collision at Avenue 336 and Road 162 Monday
Tulare County, CA (August 31, 2021) – Carlos Mendoza Garcia, a 53-year-old man, suffered injuries following a car crash that occurred in the area of Avenue 336 and Road 162.
The KMPH News reported two vehicles collided in the Tulare County intersection on August 30, Monday. Preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota sedan heading west on Avenue 336 veered for an unknown reason onto the shoulder of the roadway.
Officials said the collision happened when the man overcorrected to the left; and ended up crossing into the eastbound lane of traffic. The car eventually slammed into an oncoming SUV.
Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Turlock County Car Crash, August 30
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the driver of the wrong-way vehicle trapped in the wreckage. Paramedics later pronounced the 38-year-old Toyota driver dead at the scene.
Authorities added the driver of the 2018 GMC pickup, Carlos Mendoza Garcia, sustained injuries as a result of the collision. It remained unclear whether medical personnel treated the man at the site, or transported him to a hospital.
Several factors surrounding the horrible crash remained unclear. At this time, detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the car crash in Tulare County happened.
