Carlos Gonzalez Killed Hit-and-Run on Foothill Boulevard; Rocky Burch Arrested
OROVILLE (April 19, 2018) – Carlos Gonzalez, 47, has been identified as the landscaper who was killed after an alleged hit-and-run accident in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Lower Wyandotte Road Thursday afternoon, according to Actionnewsnow.com.
The 47-year-old Oroville man was working as a landscaper or doing maintenance work in an orchard with another male party when he was struck by a vehicle on Foothill Boulevard.
The collision occurred at about 1:25 p.m. near Lower Wyandotte Road. The gray or silver mid-2000’s full-sized pickup truck fled the scene without stopping to help the victim. Rocky Burch, 56, of Bangor, was later arrested and faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, hit and run and violation of felony probation.
After hitting the victim, the driver slammed into a fence and a power pole.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the suspect driver are urged to contact CHP at 332-1200.
