Carlos Tapia Valencia, 35, Killed in Tulare County Crash on Road 192
TULARE COUNTY, CA (September 2, 2021) – Carlos Tapia Valencia was hospitalized after a fatal car crash on Road 192 in Tulare County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 35-year-old Porterville man as the victim of the wreck which took place on Wednesday.
The incident began when Carlos Tapia Valencia was driving a 1997 Chevy Silverado was south on Road 192 in Tulare County. At the same time, a 1998 Chevy Cavalier was going north.
For an unknown reason, the Cavalier veered into the southbound lanes and went directly into the path of the pickup truck. In the process, the Silverado collided with the right side of the Cavalier.
2 Men Killed in Car Collision
CHP said the two cars crashed just north of Avenue 104. The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire wrote that the accident occurred on September 1 shortly before 7 a.m.
Carlos Tapia Valencia sustained minor injuries as a result of the Tulare County crash. Paramedics took him to the Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment.
The 25-year-old Delano man operating the Cavalier and his passenger, a 78-year-old Delano man, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the cause of the Road 192 crash is still under investigation.
CHP added that both vehicles were traveling at about 55 to 60 mph on Road 192 when the collision happened. Anyone with information can call the CHP in Porterville at 559-784-7444.
