CARLSBAD, California (May 5, 2016) — Two people were seriously injured early Thursday morning when a driver crashed into a tree on a curve in the eastbound lanes of Carlsbad Village Drive, according to a news report by CBS 8.
The crash took place about 2:45 a.m. this morning near El Camino Real. The Carlsbad Police Department responded to help those involved and stated that one person managed to crawl out of the vehicle and the other was trapped inside. Paramedics with the local fire department transported the injured driver and passenger to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and whether alcohol was involved.
