2-Vehicle Crash on Northbound I-5
CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 19, 2023) — A two-vehicle crash in Carlsbad on the Interstate 5 Freeway near Palomar Airport Road resulted in injuries.
The collision occurred in the northbound lanes around 2:44 a.m. on May 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Officials say the drivers of a white Scion and a white Mazda were involved and both vehicles were “totaled,” the report said. One person was out of their vehicle and standing near the truck after the crash.
Paramedics responded and located one person with minor injuries and another with major injuries. Also, at least one of the drivers was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, the report said.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the freeway.
Meanwhile, investigators are working to determine who’s at fault for the crash. There is no further information at this time about the Carlsbad crash on the 5 Freeway.
