The child was found at the bottom of the pool about 5:15 p.m. She was not breathing when she was brought to the surface by a family friend. The child was given CPR by two hotel employees who were able to revive the little girl at the scene. She was then transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The Carlsbad Police Department and fire department was called to the scene and they are completing their investigation into what led to the incident and liability.
