Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Carlsbad Crash Interstate 5 Near Cannon
CARLSBAD, CA (November 5, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 5 near Cannon Road in Carlsbad.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:56 p.m.
CHP said the rider of a red motorcycle and a Toyota Sienna collided for an unknown reason in the city of Carlsbad. The two crashed on the southbound Interstate 5, north of Cannon Road.
Motorcycle and Van Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist hurt in the center divider as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP mentioned that the driver of the van stayed at the site following the wreck. Officers forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down near Cannon after the incident.
The cause of the Carlsbad crash is still under investigation.
