Woman, 26, Critically Injured in Carlsbad Hit-and-Run at College and Salk

CARSLBAD, CA (July 31, 2021) – A pedestrian was critically injured after a hit-and-run crash at College Boulevard and Salk Way in Carlsbad.

The San Diego-Union Tribune and FOX 5 News wrote that the accident occurred late Friday night. Officers reported the collision shortly after 11 p.m.

The incident happened on July 30 when a vehicle struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason. Carlsbad police said the driver hit her on College Boulevard at the intersection with Salk Way.

Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the victim left lying on the ground. She sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then rushed the 26-year-old woman to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release her name and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officers shut down the intersection of College Boulevard and Salk Way following the collision.
