Bicycle Rider Injured in Carmel-By-The-Sea Crash at Dorris and Carmel Valley
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, CA (April 8, 2021) – A bicycle rider was hospitalized after an accident at Dorris Drive and Carmel Valley Road in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the incident on Wednesday evening, April 7. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:42 p.m.
According to their dispatch, a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason. The two collided at the intersection of Dorris Drive and Carmel Valley Road in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle Wednesday
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They found the bicyclist who ended up injured as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Natividad Medical Center for treatment of minor leg injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the cyclist and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officials did not mention if the driver stopped after hitting the bicycle rider. They forced the roadway to briefly shut down following the collision.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the crash.
