Deadly Head-on Crash in Carmel by the Sea
CARMEL BY THE SEA, Calif. (Oct. 8, 2021) — A fatal Carmel by the Sea crash happened Friday afternoon on Carmel Valley Road near Shulte Road.
The deadly crash happened about 12:44 p.m. on Oct. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported two motorists crashed head-on and one veered off the roadway and wound up in a ditch. A man in the vehicle was found trapped in the wreckage and was unconscious.
Someone called 911 for help following the two-vehicle crash. Paramedics responded, but sadly at least one person died at the scene.
It’s unknown how many suffered injuries in the Carmel by the Sea crash.
Two tow trucks responded to remove damaged vehicles, the CHP reports.
Meanwhile, investigators seek to determine liability for the deadly crash and whether any charges will be filed.
