Several Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 1
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2023) — A major injury crash happened on northbound Highway 1 and Ocean Avenue in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
The high speed, head-on collision occurred at around 1:41 p.m. on Oct. 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Several people were injured in the collision involving a blue van, a white SUV and a black Jeep Cherokee or Lexus SUV. The CHP report stated the blue van was “swerving prior to the crash.”
Karla Rojas Garcia was among several people transported to a hospital for undisclosed injuries. One person was airlifted with major injuries to Natividad Medical Center. Three others were taken by ground ambulances to the same hospital.
Two people had complaints of pain and were transported to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash on Highway 1 in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
