Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Carmel-By-The-Sea Crash on Highway 1 Near Garrapata
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, CA (November 6, 2021) – A crash seriously injured a motorcyclist on Highway 1 near Garrapata State Park in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 6:30 p.m.
CHP said the motorcyclist and a Honda Accord collided for an unknown reason in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The two crashed on southbound Highway 1 near the Garrapata State Park.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
The Honda obtained major right side damage due to the impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the motorcycle down on the ground.
The rider sustained major injuries a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP added that an occupant of the car complained of pain to their wrist following the wreck.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 1 to shut down near Garrapata after the incident. The cause of the Carmel-by-the-Sea crash is still under investigation.
