1 Killed, 1 Injured in Crash on Carmel Valley Road Near Schulte Road
CARMEL VALLEY, CA (October 8, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured another near Carmel Valley Road and Schulte Road.
According to the KION News and KSBW News, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 12:45 p.m.
The incident happened when a Jeep traveling on Carmel Valley Road veered into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason. In the process, the car clipped a pickup truck.
Multiple Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the pickup rolled over and went off an embankment. A third vehicle then became involved in the collision near Schulte Road.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that the driver of the truck died as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the motorist in the Jeep to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced Carmel Valley Road to shut down for several hours following the crash. The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
