Carmela Camacho, 50; and Abel Valdez, 33, Killed in Escondido Crash on San Pasqual Valley Road
ESCONDIDO (May 6, 2020) – The four pedestrians killed after a traffic collision along San Pasqual Valley Road on Tuesday have been identified.
Family members said Carmela Camacho, 50, and her partner Abel Valdez, 33, were fatally injured following the accident on May 5.
They also confirmed that Camacho’s two grandchildren, Yovanny Felix, 10; and Emmanuel Riva, 11, were also victims of the tragic incident.

Police determined that a 2014 Mazda 3 going north on San Pasqual Valley Road struck the family of four from behind for an unknown reason.
Valdez and one of the children involved died at the scene. Camacho and the other juvenile were taken to Palomar Medical Center, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
According to reports by The San Diego Union-Tribune and NBC San Diego, the fatal crash occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. near Oak Hill Drive.
Meanwhile, officers added that the 28-year-old Escondido woman driving the Mazda was hospitalized with minor wounds. The cause of the deadly collision remains under investigation.
