Carmichael Crash Kills Woman, Injures 2 on Walnut Avenue
CARMICHAEL, California (May 18, 2016) – A woman was killed and two others were injured after a head-on crash on Walnut Avenue near Cypress Avenue, according to an article by ABC 10.
The accident happened on May 18 at around 2:30 p.m.
As per the report, 22-year-old Marcus Ashford was driving on the southbound Walnut with a female passenger when their vehicle suddenly swerved into the opposite lane.
34-year-old Nikolaus Berzins was traveling on the road where Ashford’s vehicle veered onto.
The two vehicles slammed head-on.
The force from the impact resulted in severe injuries to Ashford’s female passenger. She was rescued and transported to Mercy San Juan Hospital where she later succumbed to her severe trauma.
Ashford was admitted in the same hospital where the female passenger died. He was treated for moderate injuries.
Berzins also suffered in injuries but was simply given medical aid at the scene.
