Motorcyclist Hospitalized Following Collision
CARMICHAEL (January 11, 2019)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist suffered injuries following a collision which transpired this afternoon at the intersection of Cypress and Pasadena avenues.
At roughly 12:39 p.m., a motorcyclist was confirmed to have been involved in a collision with an undisclosed vehicle prompting the dispatch of both the Sacramento Fire Department and CHP to the scene.
The rider was confirmed to have sustained moderate injuries and was therefore transported via ambulance to a local area hospital in stable condition.
There were no apparent injuries incurred to the vehicle’s driver from the information provided in the report.
Meanwhile, eastbound traffic lanes on Cypress Avenue were closed off temporarily while authorities perused the scene to determine the cause of the accident.
As of 1:39 p.m., CHP remained present at the scene.

California Highway Patrol will carry out a forensic examination of both the vehicle and the motorcycle, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine what exactly happened. Authorities will thoroughly look into how fast both parties were going, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the bike such as point of impact, final resting position, skid marks, and gouge marks.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, the motorcyclist may be granted the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the other involved motorist pending the results of the investigation. Personal injury victims who are not held at fault have the right to seek compensation for damages including medical expenses and hospital bills, pain and suffering, lost future income and loss future income due to work absence from injury.
