Carolina Naverrete De Leal Killed in Crash on Interstate 10, Palm Desert
Woman, 49, Identified as Crash Victim
PALM DESERT, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2025) — Carolina Naverrete De Leal, a 49, of Coachella, died in a crash Tuesday in Palm Desert on the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway, just west of Washington Street.
The two-or-three-vehicle collision occurred around 1:01 p.m. on Feb. 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported at least one big rig truck, possibly two, collided with a Ford sedan on the freeway. The woman who died became trapped in the car and died following the crash.
The vehicles were blocking the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes of the I-10 Freeway.
Paramedics from Cal Fire responded and confirmed Carolina Naverrete De Leal deceased on scene. One of the truck drivers was injured in the accident and required medical assistance.
It’s unknown what led up to the traffic accident, but police are investigating. Authorities are also looking to speak with the driver of a black Chevrolet Trailblazer who may have witnessed the crash. The Trailblazer has black wheels and silver trim.
Finally, tow trucks came to remove the truck and vehicle from the freeway.
