Fatal Pedestrian Accident 110 Freeway in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2019) – Caroline Calderon, 34, has been identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed Sunday night in a collision on the 110 Freeway, just south of Gage Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported about 11:22 p.m. A driver in a 2017 Kia Optima struck the woman as they traveled northbound in the No. 3 lane. The driver saw an object ahead and began to slow down, but struck the woman who was walking in the northbound lanes of the freeway at Florence Avenue.
Responding firefighters performed CPR on the woman, but she died at the scene.
The driver involved in the crash stopped and was questioned by police at the scene. The report does not say why the woman was walking on the freeway.

Police are piecing together what caused this collision to determine fault.
