Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Carpinteria Crash on Highway 101 at Bailard
CARPINTERIA, CA (January 19, 2022) – A crash seriously injured a bicycle rider on Highway 101 and Bailard Avenue in Carpinteria.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Wednesday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision at about 5:47 a.m.
The incident began when a vehicle was turning from northbound Highway 101 onto the Bailard Avenue on-ramp in Carpinteria. At the same time, a bicyclist was crossing the area.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle
For an unknown reason, the two collided. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the cyclist hurt.
