A total of seven people were hurt following the collision. Police affirmed that four children and one adult were taken to Bay Area trauma centers with injuries considered as non-life-threatening.
The other two patients, both adults, were treated at the scene.
Meanwhile, police added that a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with driving without a license and reckless driving, causing injuries. The teen was booked into Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall.
Authorities believed that speed played a role in the incident and alcohol and drugs were not factors. The road was forced to be blocked for more than two hours as the authorities investigated the incident.

In this case, the teen driver who is accused of speeding and reckless driving may be held responsible for causing the collision and injuring several people.
