LAPD Motorcycle Officer Injured in Carson Crash Near Avalon and Albertoni
CARSON, CA (April 26, 2022) – A police officer was hospitalized after a motorcycle crash near Avalon Boulevard and Albertoni Street in Carson.
According to the ABC 7 News and NBC Los Angeles, the accident took place on Tuesday morning. Officials reported the wreck at about 5:47 a.m.
A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer and a semi-truck collided for an unknown reason in Carson. The two crashed near the intersection of South Avalon Boulevard and East Albertoni Street.
Motorcycle and Semi-Truck Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the male officer who sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took him to the Harbor UCLA Medical Center for treatment. The reports did not disclose the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver of the big rig stopped following the wreck and stayed at the site. Officers forced the area of Avalon and Albertoni to shut down after the incident.
The cause of the Carson crash is still under investigation.
