CARSON, Calif. (Oct. 23, 2018) — A man was struck by a motorist early Monday on 223rd Street and Vermont Avenue in West Carson.
The crash took place about 3 a.m. when a woman driving a dark green vehicle hit the man, screamed and took off, the California Highway Patrol said. The injured man managed to crawl his way out of the roadway and up onto a sidewalk.
Paramedics responded and rushed him to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Los Angeles Crash Investigation
Police are hoping to locate the suspect who fled the scene. They will piece together evidence and any witness statements to also determine fault. It’s unknown at this time how fast the driver was going and whether alcohol or drugs were a factor. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of the vehicles, skid marks, and gouge marks.
We offer our prayers to the injured man and hope he has a full recovery.
