3 Teenage Boys Killed in Car Crash Identified
FONTANA, Calif. (Feb. 6, 2024) — Three teenagers from Carter High School in Rialto died Saturday in a high-speed police pursuit crash on Valley Boulevard and Cypress Avenue in Fontana.
The deadly crash occurred following a pursuit reaching speeds of 100 mph on Feb. 3rd, according to the Orange County Register.
Robert Rias, 15, and Domonic Adams Jr., 14, both died at the scene. Meanwhile, a third teenager identified as Omari Pitts, 15, died at the hospital. All three victims were passengers in a Nissan whose driver was the sole survivor with major injuries.
Also, two Fontana police officers were seriously injured in the crash following the 20-second long pursuit. One of the police officers was released from hospital on Monday.
Authorities reported the unidentified driver of the vehicle failed to pull over for a traffic stop and led them on the pursuit before the white Nissan Sentra chased into a police car on Valley Boulevard and Cypress Avenue, police said.
The Rialto Unified School District confirmed the three teenagers who died were students at Carter High School in Rialto.
The case remains under investigation by the Fontana Police Department.
