At Least 1 Killed in Car Accident at Kamm and Marks Saturday
Caruthers, CA (September 12, 2020) – A fatal traffic collision occurred Saturday in the area of Kamm and Marks avenues, according to Your Central Valley News.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 65-year-old man driving a 1996 Toyota Corolla approached a stop sign at Marks Avenue from westbound Kamm Avenue. For reasons still unclear, the elderly driver failed to stop and drove through the crossing.
Officials said at about the same time, a 2015 Chevrolet pickup pulling a loaded cattle-trailer also drove into the intersection. Per local news source, the Chevrolet was heading north on Marks with no stop signs posted for Marks when it entered the junction.
The Chevrolet ended up hitting the left side of the Toyota. The force from the impact resulted in major left-side damage to the Toyota.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the driver of the Toyota unconscious. Paramedics sadly pronounced the man dead.

Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the driver of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
The names of the two drivers involved in the horrible incident remained undisclosed.
