Several Injured in Collision Near Eggiman Lane
Amador County, CA (May 23, 2022) – Police arrested 45-year-old Cassandra Dawn Suarez in relation with an injury car accident that occurred on State Route 88.
According to the Ledger Dispatch News, Suarez of Volcano was driving a 2018 Honda Civic traveling west on the highway. Due to the alleged intoxication of the woman, she allowed the Honda to veer into the opposite lane and drove into the path of a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. The two vehicles collided head-on in the area near Eggiman Lane just outside Martell.
Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 11:08 p.m. Responding paramedics found several occupants in the Honda, and two innocent people in the Chevrolet all with injuries. Personal information on the victims remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Major Car Accident in Amador County
Meanwhile, investigators reportedly determined Cassandra Dawn Suarez was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. For this reason, police arrested and booked the suspect in the Amador County Jail.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
