1 Hospitalized After Collision Near Lake Hughes Road Friday
Castaic, CA (January 2, 2022) – At least one person suffered serious injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway, the KHTS News reported.
Authorities said a Jeep Compass SUV slammed into the rear of a big rig early Friday morning. The collision took place in the northbound side of 5 Freeway just north of Lake Hughes Road in Castaic.

Shortly after 5:15 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the crash site. First responders found the driver of the Jeep with serious injuries. Paramedics then transported the patient to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Several factors surrounding the incident have not been discussed thus far. Given that, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the traffic accident happened on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Castaic.
