CASTAIC, Calif. (March 9, 2022) — A Castaic crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway morning involved a semi-truck and a car, just north of Lake Hughes Road.

The two-vehicle collision happened in the northbound lanes of the I-5 about 2:24 a.m. on March 9th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the driver in the white big rig truck with empty double trailers jackknifed during the crash. A blue sedan suffered “extremely major” rear-end damage in the crash, the police dispatch said.

Meanwhile, one person suffered minor injuries and another had major injuries from the collision.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene to help the injured.

Finally, CHP investigators are working on the case and will determine liability for the Castaic crash on the 5 Freeway.

Our thoughts and prayers extend to those injured as we hope for a full recovery.
