CASTAIC: Two-Vehicle Collision Interstate 5 Freeway, Templin Highway

NEWHALL, Calif., (October 28, 2026) — A two-vehicle crash occurred early Wednesday morning on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway in Castaic, about a mile north of Templin Highway. The collision reportedly involved a black Ford Mustang and a black Range Rover.

The incident, logged at 6:06 AM on Oct. 28th, took place in the Newhall area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene where two vehicles were initially found in the No. 1 Lane of the freeway. The Ford Mustang sustained significant front-end damage and could not be moved, requiring a flatbed tow truck.

At 6:27 AM, one vehicle was moved to the right shoulder, while authorities continued to check the area for any other involved vehicles. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but the extent of any potential injuries remains unknown at this time.
