Castro Valley Car Accident at Somerset Avenue and Redwood Road

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (July 1, 2025) — A two-vehicle car accident in Castro Valley happened Tuesday morning at Somerset Avenue, just west of Redwood Road.

A driver in a white Hyundai Santa Fe SUV reportedly rear-ended a yellow tractor around 8:14 a.m. on July 1st, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SUV Versus Yellow Tractor Crash

CHP officials reported the SUV had its airbags deployed, and all parties exited the vehicle.

Paramedics responded to help at least one person with minor injuries and a tow truck removed the SUV due to major front-end damage.

It’s unknown what led to the collision. However, investigators are working to determine fault for the car accident on Somerset Avenue in Castro Valley.
