Dirt Bike Rider Badly Injured in Castroville Hit-and-Run at Sanchez and Seymour
CASTROVILLE, CA (July 10, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash badly injured one person at Sanchez Street and Seymour Street in Castroville.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the collision took place on Saturday night. Officers reported the Castroville hit-and-run crash at about 8:26 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the rider of a dirt bike for an unknown reason. The driver hit the victim at the intersection of Sanchez Street and Seymour Street in Castroville.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the rider who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. They are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
Officers forced the area of Sanchez and Seymour streets to shut down following the collision. The cause of the Castroville hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
