Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Castroville Crash at Highway 183 and Del Monte Avenue
CASTROVILLE, CA (October 15, 2022) – A crash left a motorcyclist seriously injured at Highway 183 and Del Monte Avenue in Castroville.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on October 14 at about 3:14 p.m.
The incident happened when a black Volkswagen and the male motorcycle rider collided for an unknown reason in Castroville.
The two crashed at the intersection of Highway 183 and Del Monte Avenue. CHP said the motorcyclist went airborne upon impact and landed on the ground.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Another car approached the scene and ran over his leg. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and found the victim lying on the road.
He sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
The name of the patient and their condition at this time were not disclosed. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Volkswagen ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck.
Officers forced the area of Highway 183 and Del Monte to shut down after the incident. The cause of the Castroville crash is still under investigation.
