Deputy, 2 Others Injured in Collision Near Castroville Boulevard
Castroville, CA (May 28, 2023) – Three people, including one officer, suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Highway 156 and Castroville Boulevard.
According to KSBW News, a deputy with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office was responding to a call in the Castroville area Saturday afternoon, May 27. Earlier reports indicated while heading towards the location of the reported drive-by shooting, the patrol vehicle collided with another car. The crash happened as the deputy turned onto Castroville Boulevard from Highway 156.

Emergency crews responded to the site shortly after 2:01 p.m. Responding paramedics checked the conditions of the officer, and the two occupants in the civilian car. After the evaluation, medical personnel transported the three patients to Natividad Medical Center and a nearby hospital for further treatment. The names of the injured parties remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate liability in the car accident that took place at Highway 156 and Castroville Boulevard.
