Diane Scronce and Rick Scronce San Andreas Crash Highway 494 Injured in Collision on Highway 49

SAN ANDREAS (June 28, 2017)- According to the California Highway Patrol, four people were injured following a rear-end collision Monday on Highway 49.

Authorities received notice of a 2-car collision at around 8:00 a.m. between a 2016 Ford and a 2005 Chrysler.

Sources report that the driver of the Ford, Gary Soria, 49, of San Andreas, had been headed northbound on Highway 49 when he became distracted and failed to stop after traffic slowed down colliding into the back if a Chrysler.

Inside the Chrysler were four people including Diane Scronce, 64, Rick Scronce, 66, Annie Curtis, 18, and a 17-year-old.

All four parties were transported to Mark Twain Med Center for the treatment of moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, Soria and his passenger, Timothy Fautt, 40, of San Andreas, were also injured to a minor degree and chose to not be taken to a hospital.

CHP officials do not believe there to be drugs or alcohol involved.
