ESCONDIDO, California (May 11, 2017) — Two people are dead, two others were injured early Thursday morning after a police pursuit resulted in a collision in the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue, according to On Scene TV.
The fatal crash took place about 12:19 a.m. this morning. The Escondido Police Department was chasing a vehicle at high speeds that eventually crashed into multiple parked cars and a tree. A man and women died of their injuries at the scene of the crash and two others were hospitalized. One of the injured was extricated by firefighters using the Jaws of Life prior to being airlifted to a trauma center. A second injured person was transported by ambulance with major injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
