John Yonko Killed in Van Nuys Hit-and-Run
Van Nuys- According to the Daily News, a man identified as John Yonko, 28, was killed in a hit-and-run Sunday morning as he crossed Vanowen Street.
John Yonko was struck just after midnight by a 4-door sedan whose driver immediately fled the scene. Moments later the 28-year-old man was hit by an LA Transit bus which caused fatal injuries to the victim.
Police officials disclosed the driver of the sedan was last headed northbound along Sepulveda as they will likely attempt to pull video footage from street or local business area cameras.
Per the Daily News, the driver of the bus did indeed stop and remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities.
No further details have been released at this time while police officials continue their search for the hit-and-run motorist.
