Fatal Sutter Creek Car Accident
SUTTER CREEK, California (July 24, 2017) – At least one person was killed Monday morning in a head-on car accident on State Route Golden Chain Highway 49 at Ridge Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 6:31 a.m. this morning and involved a white car and a Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck with utility box. The two vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash. The collision was heard from nearby Amador High School by the 911 caller.
Investigation into Highway 49 Crash
Police and paramedics were dispatched to help those involved, but there were no further details at this time.
The crash remains under investigation to determine liability. Detectives have closed down the roadway for several hours as they piece together what led to to the crash and which party is at fault.
