CATHEDRAL CITY, California (Sunday, September 27, 2015) – A 57 year-old bicyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, was grievously injured yesterday morning at the intersection in front of 69120 Ramon Road.
The man was taken by ambulance to the Desert Regional Medical Center where he later died of his wounds. The driver of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist did not sustain any injuries. He stated that the bicyclist had turned from the sidewalk to ride against traffic when he hit the man.
The accident occurred at about 9:20 a.m., according to a Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s incident report. Police are still investigating the incident. They believe the bicyclist might have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.
