Major Injury Cathedral City Crash on I-10 Freeway
CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. (August 3, 2021) — Two Cathedral City car accidents happened early Tuesday morning on the Interstate 10 Freeway.
The collisions took place just after 3:41 a.m. on August 3rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported both collisions involved major injuries.
Two Collisions Block Interstate 10 Freeway
The initial Cathedral City car accident involved a Honda Accord colliding with a stalled pickup truck. Upon impact, the pickup truck split into two and the Honda had major front-end damage.
Next, a collision involving three motorists happened in the same area near the Date Palm Drive exit. Meanwhile, a semi-truck driver reported got out of his vehicle to help and was struck by another motorist.
Paramedics responded to transport at least two people to hospitals due to major injuries. The number of people hurt is unknown at this time. Also, police did not release the names of those hurt in the collisions.
Meanwhile, authorities provided no further details about the two collisions.
Investigators with the California Highway Patrol seek to determine liability for both collisions.
