Man, 44, Critically Injured in Cathedral City Hit-and-Run Crash on Ramon Road
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (September 2, 2021) – A pedestrian was critically injured after a hit-and-run crash on Ramon Road in Cathedral City.
According to an article published by the KESQ News, the accident took place on Thursday night.
Cathedral City police said a male pedestrian was trying to cross Ramon Road when two vehicles struck him for an unknown reason.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Chevron gas station. They found the 44-year-old Cathedral City man left lying on the ground as a result of the incident.
Pedestrian Hit by 2 Vehicles
The victim sustained severe injuries due to the impact of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed him to a hospital and listed him in critical condition.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded victim. Meanwhile, police affirmed that both drivers involved did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area.
Officers forced the westbound lanes of Ramon Road to shut down from La Paloma to Landau Boulevard for several hours following the crash.
The cause of the Cathedral City hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
