CATHEDRAL CITY, California (October 24, 2014) — A pedestrian suffered major injuries Wednesday night when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver and then an ambulance in the westbound lanes of Ramon Road, according to California Highway Patrol.
California Highway Patrol officers say the motorist who initially hit the pedestrian fled the scene of the crash after hitting the person who was thrown in front of a Cathedral City Fire Department ambulance on Ramon Road, just west of Avenida La Paloma.
The ambulance had been heading to Desert Regional Medical Center with a victim from another car crash at the time of the collision on Ramon Road.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the hit-and-run motorist are asked to call CHP officers at 760-772-8911.
