Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Broadway in Lemon Grove

 Catherine Jackson Fatal Lemon Grove Pedestrian Accident Broadway (July 27)LEMON GROVE, Calif. (August 10, 2021) – Catherine Jackson, 53, of San Diego, died July 27th in a Lemon Grove pedestrian accident on Broadway, just east of Sweetwater Road.

The collision occurred about 10:38 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27th in front of the Lemon Grove Care & Rehabilitation center, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.

A driver traveling eastbound on Broadway reportedly struck Catherine Jackson underneath the bridges that connect State Routes 125 and 94. It’s unknown what led up to the collision, but there are no crosswalks in this area. There are two lanes in both directions and there are street lights to illuminate the roadway at night when this happened.

Meanwhile, after the collision, the driver involved stopped and called 911 for help.

Deadly Pedestrian Accident

Responding medical personnel pronounced the victim dead upon arrival at the scene due to multiple blunt force injuries, the coroner said. The coroner later identified the victim as Catherine Demaurvert Jackson.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department is heading up the investigation into the collision.
