Cecilia Shu, 68, Killed in Oceanside Hit-and-Run Crash on Benet Road
OCEANSIDE, CA (June 12, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed Cecilia Shu on Benet Road in Oceanside.

Family members identified the 68-year-old Oceanside woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Sunday morning.
The incident happened when Cecilia Shu was walking on the sidewalk along Benet Road in Oceanside. For an unknown reason, a car drove onto the sidewalk and struck her.
Police said the vehicle hit the pedestrian near Leepish Drive. The ABC 10 News wrote that the accident occurred on June 5 shortly after 8:30 a.m.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision. She soon died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver did not stop to render aid to the woman, made a U-turn and fled. Police believed that speed played a role in the incident as the motorist was seen speeding before in the area.
Officers described the suspect car as a black 2019-2022 Honda HR-V with damage to its front bumper and grill. The Oceanside hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver who left Cecilia Shu in the roadway. Anyone with information can call the police at (760) 435-4412.
