ORANGE, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2018) — A 58-year-old woman died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday morning in Orange. She has since been identified as Celsa Anaya.
Anaya was in a crosswalk at Glassell Street and Katella Avenue when a driver in a white pickup truck struck her about 6:30 a.m., according to the Orange Police Department
She had been walking east to west when the northbound pickup made a right-hand turn from Glassell to Katella to head eastbound, police said.
Anaya was rushed to a hospital, but later died of her injuries at an area hospital, police said.
Witnesses are urged to call Detective Craig Brown at (714) 744-7342.
Orange County Crash Investigation
A full investigation into this collision will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicle such as point of impact, final resting position, skid marks, and gouge marks. It’s unknown if there is a description of the vehicle beyond calling it a white pickup truck. Hopefully this person will turn themselves in or someone will provide a tip that will help police locate the suspect.
We offer our condolences to the family of Celsa Anaya.
