3 Injured in Crash Involving Cement Truck on Highway 1
EL GRANADA, Calif. (March 15, 2022) — A cement truck versus car crash happened Monday afternoon on Highway 1 near Half Moon Bay in El Granada.
Three people were hospitalized following the two-vehicle collision on March 14th, according to a report by the CHP.
The crash happened about 2:31 p.m. on Highway 1, just north of Sam’s Chowder House, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a cement truck and a Ford Flex collided due to unknown circumstances. Paramedics responded to help those injured in the El Granada crash. They transported the driver of the Ford Flex to a hospital by an air ambulance, police said.
The emergency response included the San Mateo County Harbor District, the Coastside Fire Protection District, the San Mateo County Sheriff and medical. Emergency medical crews transported at least three people to hospitals, police said.
Meanwhile, authorities temporarily closed down Highway 1 in both directions between Coronado Street and Capistrano.
Traffic was diverted away from the crash scene and other motorists were asked to avoid the area. The roadway reopened by 3:13 p.m.
Finally, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
