Volleyball Coach Excused Students from Class for Alleged Sexual Meetings
SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 7, 2018) — Omar Rojas, 28, of Santa Ana, has been arrested for allegedly having sex with three minor teenage girls on the Century High School volleyball team, according to a police report.
The victims were two 17-year-old girls and one 15-year-old girl who were all on his volleyball team. A possible fourth vehicle is being interviewed by police and they suspect there could be more victims who have yet to come forward.
The volleyball coach and security guard for the Santa Ana Unified School District was arrested and is in jail. Rojas worked as a District Safety Officer at Sierra Preparatory Academy at the time of these alleged crimes and then was later hired by the school district.
The Los Angeles District Attorney charged Rojas today with four counts of oral copulation of a minor, sexual penetration by a foreign object of a minor, five counts of unlawful sex with a minor three years younger than the perpetrator,
The alleged crimes reportedly took place in 2015. Rojas reportedly had the students excused from their classrooms to meet with them for on-campus sexual activities.
Rojas was arrested and confessed to the crimes. He is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
