2 Injured in Ceres Car Accident at Hatch Road and Central Avenue; Damian Cortez Arrested
CERES (February 21, 2018) – A vehicle pursuit ended in a traffic collision at the intersection of Hatch Road and Central Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
An article by the Modesto Bee reported that local police drove after a silver Mustang that was speeding in the area of Caswell and 2nd streets.
Shortly after 12:34 p.m., the chase ended after the Mustang driver drove against a red light at the intersection of Hatch and Central Avenue. The Mustang then slammed into another vehicle that was traveling east on Hatch Road.

First responders immediately rendered aid to two drivers found at the accident scene. As per the article, the motorist in the other vehicle suffered injuries to their knee and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The name and condition at this time of the vicim remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, officials have identified the Mustang driver as 39-year-old Damian Gabriel Cortez. The man was reportedly booked by officers on charges of evading a police officer, possession of a controlled substance and numerous weapons violations.
